Behavioral Finance

A field of finance that proposes psychologically based theories to explain stock market anomalies, such as why investors make seemingly irrational decisions.

Formalized in the late 1970s and 1980s by economists like Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, combining psychology and economics to challenge the assumption of the "rational investor."
